Pancake day.

We had pancakes for dinner last night, and it was great. I found the recipes for it from this website and I know it from a reliable source.

So, last night I tried it and voila, it turned out to be great. The whole family liked it well, except for Azrai but he did tried a bit. When we decided to have pancake for dinner, Amli had to go to the supermarket to buy the syrup to go with the pancakes. I had a funny feeling that he will come back with a different kind of syrup, hehehe...my woman intuation was right, instead of maple syrup, he bought honey...but at least he gets the concept. He also bought tuna so we had honey and tuna to go with our pancakes.

Funny incident happened while we were eating it...excatly after we done eating it. I thought Adriana was thru with dinner when she went to our living room and watced TV, just after I finished the last bit and on my way to the kithchen, she went to the dinner table and asked for more. When we told her that it was all gone, she looked at us and then cried. So, I had to do another one for her and as always Adriana will finished hers.

Since the first recipe turned out alright, I was thinking of cooking more challenging dishes this weekends, maybe roast beef and with cheeesecakes....yummy!

My poor baby

On Wednesday night while playing with Adriana I saw something in her right ear. At first glance I thought it was a dried food, and started cleaning it then I saw something else inside her ear. It was puss. I started cleaning it too thinking nothing seriuos but even after I cleaned it, it was still there. I called Amli and we probe into her ear using a tissue paper.

We tried to look into her ear but we could not do it with her trying to get away, so I reminded myself to ask her teachers about this.

Unfortunately, yesterday we do not have our car so my father send her to school but when we got back form work, my father told me that her teachers told my father that her right ear have puss and it was a lot. Panic bell started ringing in my head. We decided to bring her to see normal GP first and we see from there.

Went to see our normal GP, he looked at her ear and started to clen it up and told her that it was infection from her nose. And according to the doctor if this happen to an adult, that person might lose the hearing ability. Luckily for kids it will get better with treatment. Phew....

The doctor then asked me didn't Adriana said something that her ear is hurting. Told the doctor that Adriana is a special kid, she does not know how to talk.
This is the diffuculties that we are facing with Adriana, some thing happened when she was dignosed with the HFM, we only found out at a later stage because she cannot tell us that she is in pain. When she cries we just assume normal illness stomach aches,fever, etc not this type of illnessess.

It such a heart breaking for me as a mother to see her like that, but Adriana is so special even when she is in pain, she will just smile at you and continue playing her favourite activities. This make thing worse as we cannot detect soemthing wrong with her until it was too late.

My poor baby is in pain and there is nothing I can do.

Ice Cream Malaysia

I am sure those in my generation know what is ice cream malaysia. We been talking about this me and Amli then the kids were curious. They wanted to know what is ice cream malaysia. Then, I decided to make it for them. Once I told them my intention, they started giving me their favourite flavour. Tasya wanted strawberry amd Azrai wanted rainbow flavour. They all thought that ice cream malaysia is like normal ice cream, apparently nowadays people do not sell this type of ice ceam anymore-they sell ice cream goreng.

So, last Monday Amli did the ice cream with orange and bandung flavour. And last night the kids for the first time were eating ice cream malaysia and to my surprised they did not know how to eat it, haiya buat malu jea kata malaysian but do not know hoe to eat ice ceam malaysia. YOu know that ice crem have 2 side right,and you always eat it for the top part(not the part that you tie the plastic)...really wish I h ave the picture to illustrate it here. But my kids went all the way of trying to untie the knot part!!! Funny looking at Azrai trying his best to do that.

I showed them how to eat it, only Tasya finally get the concept while Azrai still struggling with the ice cream. Finally both of them gave up, they don't seem to understand why amli and myself love that ice cream so much.

Kids today are so spolit with modern choices that simple things don't appeal to them anymore....sad but that is the reality of lives.

Every Little She Does is Magic

That is for our darling Adriana. Every little things that people take for granted but for her are magic. Like drinking using straw. She only mastered that skills about 6 months ago, and the first time she used this skills we were so happy.

With her conditions, she has yet to master all of her fine motor skills, she still having problems with playing with blocks, or putting things into a small place. But she is practising this skills every day.

For the past weeks, she has mastered the skills of picking her nose!!! Other people may think that this is a disgusting habit but to us and to her this is such a big achievements. She now has mastered another skills. And being a proud mother that I am, I told everybody about it and asked her to show her skills. People reactions were a funny ones, people think that this is disgusting but then I told them that this is a major thing for her, and Adriana being Adriana just smile and start picking her nose.

I wish I have a picture or a video of her doing this, and maybe 1 day I will be able to take her pictures then I can post it here.

Far more intellegent than that.....

Last night a funny incident happened at our place. When we got home from my parents' place, Amli told me that Adriana had done her big business and we need to wash her. Told Amli I will do it later on, in the meantime Tasya was eating Oreo and Adriana who loves to eat obviously want one. I asked Tasya to give some to Adriana.

Amli upon seeing that I was busy in the kitchen preparing for our dinner, took Adriana to the washroom himself and wanted to clean her up. Ok seem fine until I heard commotion upstairs, Tasya went up and then she came down screaming to me "mama, mama, adik ate her poo". I was like what? How is that possible. How could Amli let that happened. But I did not go to see what happened immediately. I finished my work in the kitchne first, make sure that I finished cooking at least 1 dish before I went up and see what happened.

After about 5mins, I then went up to see what actually happened. When I saw Amli, he staright launch to me the account of events. He told me that he suspected something funny, so he looked at Adriana's fingernails but nothing suspicious there, but then he suddenly had this urged to look inside her mouth and to his surprised there are black thing everywhere. He then panicked and went to the toliet and using unused toothbrush, brushed Adriana teeth and mouth with 'Colgate'!!! No wonder Adriana was screaming, then he forced Adriana to drink a glass of water.

I looked at him and told him that it was Oreo, Adriana had Oreo before, and that was the black staff inside her mouth!!!! Does he think that Adriana is that type of baby? She has taste, my dear and she is far more intelligent than what we think. She would not eat her own pooh.

Amli then went to Adriana and apologised to her, she was angry at first but then she smiled and everything was back to normal.

Ceah, Ayah..have some credit to your kids lah.....
