Slumber Party

Tasya is organizing her ever first slumber party this coming Saturday. She got the idea after I bought her this "Party Princess" book from the Times Warehouse Sales. She was reading the book then suddenly she asked me can she do a slumber party? I asked her who she wants to invite, she said her aunties. I said ok but you have to organised everything. Within minutes, she has called all of them( the thing is people thought that she was joing and none of them take her seriously-so I have to call their parents back and tell tham that she was not joking and we do want to invite their kids for a slumber party). One of my auntie could not believe it, she laughted when I told her and she warned me that to expect more as she grows older, she would want to do more parties.

She done her menus for that day-pizzas for dinner, and lots of snacks in between. The activities for the Saturday night-card games, lots of art and crafts and of course the famous karaoke. Sunday morning a trip to the zoo(which I have not tell Amli about this-imagine you have to bring 7 kids to the zoo...he will freak out!!)

She is really excited about the whole party thing, and I really hope that it will go smoothly. I will let you know the outcome of the party next week.

First day of school

Last week all of my kids started their school. Tasya is in Standard 1, Azrai pre-school and Adriana joined a special nursey for special kids.

It was a hectic week for all of us. All of them are attending morning classes, meaning that all of us have to wake up at 6.30am in the morning.

Tasya was ok, however she did not really enjoyed her class during the first week. According to her, it was very different from her kindergarden(obviously), here she cannot get the attention that she used to get during her kindergarden years. And also she really have to student hard in her primary school. No more playing around. It is also a new experience for her, buying food during recess. The first day was hard for her, she did not know how to use her money and where to go. I have to go to her school during recess to help us settling in. This week however, we see so much improvement on her. She now can buy her own food and have extra time to play with her classmates after class.

Azrai's reaction to his first day of school was a surprised to all of us. He kept telling us that he did not want to go to school at all. It took lots of persuasion for him to finally agreed on going to his first pre-school. He woke up the first day with so much anticipation, after all the hassle went to his school and much to our surorised the school was closed. It totally slipped my mind that the school will only open the next day!!!

The next day, he threw a bit of tantrum because he said that his school is closed so why he needs to be there. After much convincing, and promises that his school will be opne today. He went there with so much enthusiasm, and ready to meet new friends. After that it was smooth sailing for us with Azrai. Azrai is so much different from Tasya. With Tasya, by the 2nd week, you already knows all her teachers' name, all her classmate and other gossips but with Azrai, everytime you asked him what is the name of his teacher, he would said "teacher" and what he did at school he said "play, eat and go home"

Adriana's reaction was totally different form Tasya and Azrai's. She cried everytime you drop her off and pick her up. Adriana loves eating, once I went to pick her up, she was having her tea break. She was holding the food in her hand and her mouth was full but the moment she saw me, she threw her food form her hand and inside her mouth and cried. It was funny. I always thought that I will have a hard time with Azrai not with Adriana but it was vice versa.

3 kids with 3 different attitude towards the changes in their lives.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia

A week after Christmas all of us went to Kedah for cuti-cuti Malaysia. Why Kedah? because it was Amli's hometown so accommodation is free, and we have not gone back to Kedah for almost 1 year.

We left KL on the 25th December at 7am, on the way to there we stopped over at Lumut to pick up Tasya and Azrai(who were there for my cousin's wedding). For normal drive from KL to Kedah usually it was 5 hours drive but since the stopover it took us almost half a day to reach Kedah. We arrived there at 7pm...so 12 hours journey, with the stopover mind you.

We went back to Kedah with one intention to become a typical tourists!!! So, we did all the tourist thingy.

26th December(First day)

Woke up early morning, after a good night sleep(needed the rest). Went for a breakfast at my favourite restaurant in Alor Setar-a chinese restaurant in front of Bank Rakyat in Jalan Langgar(I think) for a very delicious apom laanggaq(I think that is what it called). It was so good(I can still feel it...yummmy..yummy). It was family favourite. After that a stopover at Taman Rimba, the kids have their dose of morning excercises. After that we discovered that in Alor Setar there is a new Giant opening in Souq Albukhari, so went there did a bit of shopping-managed to spend almost RM150.00 there(as if there is no Giant in KL) but like my son would said..."Giant baru...best!!"
In the afternoon, thank to Auntie Yatie who provided us with the free entrance to the Carnivall. Kids had a great time, althought it took them a while to jump into the pool. Even longer time for Adriana since she can be a bit difficult to adjust herself with unfamilar surroundings. After a while, they really enjoyed themselves..amli too.

27th December(2nd Day)

We started the day with only 1 intention, to shop at Bukit Kayu Hitam!!! Bukit Kayu Hitam is a border between Kedah and Thailand, so you can get a fake goods for a very good bargain. We had a very high expectation but was very dissapointed, there was almost nothing there.....however managed to spend almost RM150.00. We end up buying chocolates at the duty free.
In the evening, we went to this one gunung that is famous for the natural crystals, and also monkeys. Went there just to kill the time and to exposed the kids of the mother nature.

28th December(3rd Day)

Today is jalan-jalan day. We decided to gain some knowledge from this trip. So, it's get to know Kedah Day. First after breakfast(another round of the Apom) we went to Museum Padi. This is a special museum that tell you about the history of paddy. It was interesting as part of the attraction is the revolving doom where there is a 3D images of the surrounding scenary for the 4 season for the paddy farmer. It was something new but that is all, after that typical Malaysian's museum. Nothing much, luckily my mother in law was a history tacher. So, we got lots of information from her. After that, we stopped briefly at the side of Paddy field to take photos( remember, we are being typical tourist). After that we went to State Museum. Again, the exhibits are nothing to shout about compared to Britishh Museum but again, they tokk lots form the country that they invaded(ask the Greek-they should know) and furthermore England is much older than Malaysia, so much more things to show to people. Overall it was a good experience for the kids and for us too. After that,we went round the town, taking pictures with the town attraction such as Masjid Zahir, the town centre and such. It was a fun. The fact that we went back to Alor Setar every year but this is the first year that we really look at the town. Otherwise we took things for granted.

29th December(4th day)

Today we decided to go to Perlis, the northern state of Malaysia. We went to Taman Ular, then to Padang Besar( another border of Thailand-cheap stuff and fake goods-Amli bought fake Levis for only RM35.00!!), then went to Gua Kelam(to see batman?), then we went to Kuala Perlis to have laksa perlis for tea unfortunately no laksa only seafood!!

30th December(5th Day)

Raya Haji, we celebrated it by going to Amli's grandmother's house. Visiting relatives. Nothing extra-ordinary.

Overall it was a very good holidays for us. We really enjoyed it.
